Concerning plagiarism and especially integrity. Those are just nonsense words to the atheist and unbeliever. There worldview has no meaning. Even the work and the duty they perform, it has no meaning. So if you want to argue about creative integrity with me. You better at the very least, have the ability to know the difference between subjective and objective.
when I heard this I instantly thought of Spheres of Madness by Decapitated. And I am noticing this happening more and more with music. Whether or not the two bands are aware of each other I have no idea. Playing an instrument, and honestly playing an instrument is not easy.
And now with ai music is becoming something of a maze to navigate and play effectively. Especially if you are trying to be original.
I remember when Dave Muistane called out Metallica for Enter the Sandman. And the similarities between that song and Excel Tapping Into The Emotional Void. This similarities are too obvious to not pay attention.
And if you want to go a step further, imagine all of the electronic music, rap etc. and all of the copying being done there. Its all fun and games, until somebody starts making money. And then it becomes an issue of livelihood. And honestly, it is a sick industry. Especially the non christian or maybe even the christian sides of it.
I was curious about the Showdown, because honestly I was hoping that the original members of Embodyment would have picked up the vocal duties, as they were originally on the old demo days of Embodyment.
I don’t mind Hope Deferred. And honestly, I would rather see people out enjoying their music and being happy. Than trying to please every noise box in a magazine or website. I am talking about myself here.
But in the case of plagiarism and copying, I do see it all the time. And especially in metal music, because that is predominately what I listen to and enjoy. I know growing up, when I heard Christian metal, the dialogue would always consist of said band sounding like popular secular band. And it didn’t help the case of wanting to hear that band one bit. But honestly in a lot of cases it is actually unavoidable. And you wouldn’t know it, but I do know secular bands that copy off of Christian bands.
When I heard the Faceless Autotheism album, there where moments where I downright thought I was listening to an Extol album.
