Proverbs 15:1 states, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
Proverbs 26:4 advises, “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.” Engaging with completely irrational statements can trap you in a useless dispute.
When questioned and mistreated unjustly, Jesus often answered with calm logic or dignified silence rather than lashing out in retaliation (John 18:19-24)
No more is my time and energy worth losing my peace. I cannot help how people treat me. I can only change the way I respond.
