They recompiled the game so you can play it on your computer. You are going to need your own game files to play this. The fact that the dev community and gamers as a whole. But don’t you worry! for only $1500 you can own this wonderful game!
I imagine the Japanese version is probably cheaper, but last I checked the cost for a copy on eBay its well over $1000. Which really makes me kick myself. Because I did at one point own the American copy of the game. I did purchase that through eBay, but I paid something around $150 for my copy.
All of that aside this is still actually very underwhelming. If you want polished graphics and all that nonsense, sure. But I would rather play the original, and my opinion is no different for any other title.
In terms of the game itself, it is and was fun to play. I enjoyed the story, and the atmosphere and characters. Where I think the game failed is in its difficulty. I cannot recall any fight where I was really stressed or fearing myself losing. It made it feel like less of an achievement for me.
That was actually a lesson that I learned from Dark Souls. And its something that I didn’t even realize that we were taught with older retro games. A challenging and difficult game, is the most rewarding. The challenge in this game, is finding your way through areas, speaking to right people. A lot of the same rpg fare.
To me the meat and potato’s here is in the battles. And especially the dragon morphing. But as I mentioned earlier with an excellent battle system that it does have, most of the fights, if not all are very underwhelming.

You can download the compiler/builder here. And as mentioned earlier, you do need actual game files to get this to work!
