PC / Various / 2016
With the coming of the sequel on the horizon I thought now would be a good time as any to share my interest and love for Slain.
I know a lot of you, don't think I much enjoy or play video games. But believe it or not, when the time is right. I do enjoy playing video games. And this is one that caught me entirely off guard.
as there are numerous video games that are trying recapture the old style of gaming and platformers. While implamenting some modern takes. And I think that actually does describe this rather well. The game itself introduces a fun set of play mechanics that do require time and strategy to learn. And while you can effectively get through sections not takingg advantage of every tool in your belt, you are doing yourself a disservice in the long run.
The fighting and the difficulty, plus the platforming is all a lot of fun. And for me, its challenging enough to keep my just frustrated enough to where I refuse to quit and keep playing. I love a challenge, and if a game cannot challenge me, I am not going to be interested for long. In terms of difficulty, I do not quite consider myself a masochist in gaming just yet, so what might be difficult for me, may be a piece of cake for others.
Another great thing about this game, is the music. The beginning of the game, its not that difficult to zone out and forget about it. But some levels and moments they do manage to capture the atmosphere and get your head in the game, and out of your adhd or wandering thoughts.
definitely worth whatever the price tag is. And it does look like the sequel is going to see a Switch 2 release, among all the other modern consoles.
